Jurandi Assis is a man whose life is art. Born in 1939 in Santa Maria da Vitória, in the countryside of Bahia, art appeared in his life in the form of original drawings that he with simplicity made as a child.
Jurandi the boy grew up with the people and the customs of Bahia: folklore filled his childhood with color. He took part in the festivities and identified with his background, while dreaming of art as a way to show the magical beauty of his homeland to the world. This is the dream that took him to São Paulo at the age of 17. There, he was able to improve his technique and increase his knowledge. Life in the big city wasn't easy, but little by little he achieved his objective, fulfilling his childhood dreams.
